The recently declared remaster of Diablo 2 has not posted anything yet
But this was not necessarily the situation. Pre-release advertising materials for Diablo 2 featured a warden personality opening the door for the Dark Wanderer. This had been the original intent that the warden exist to open up the door, but that character never made it into the match. It changed the context of the scene. From the sent version, the Dark Wanderer doesn't seem encouraged; they open their own route.
In Diablo 2 Resurrected, the recently declared remaster of Diablo 2, Blizzard Entertainment could've discovered that cinematic and attracted the warden in. However, no matter the initial intention or that which makes more sense from the spectacle, that goes against Blizzard's philosophy for Resurrected.
Prior to BlizzConline, we spoke to Rod Fergusson, executive director of the Diablo franchise in Blizzard, and Rob Gallerani, principal designer at Blizzard's support studio, Vicarious Visions. And after working on the industry's"worst-kept key," the pair have been apparent about Diablo 2 Resurrected: Here really is the Diablo 2 you understand, warts and all.
"This isn't a movie," said Fergusson. This ist's right there, beneath the surface. The entire simulation, the search engine for this game, which lifeblood of this game, is right underneath. So there's a toggle button, a heritage toggle, that when you press the button, you'll see behind the drapes, and there's Diablo 2 in 2D sprites running directly there, and now you can play the way that you played 20 years ago."
Within our 30-minute chat, the pair could not have made the doctrine for Diablo 2 Resurrected more clear. It's -- because it had to be -- that the sport players recalled. Blizzard felt that most deviations, even important quality-of-life features, are a step too far.
